What Must We Do with God

1.     Believe in God.

Jhn 14:1, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me (Christ).”

Note: To believe in God is to put your trust in Him. Sinners cannot save themselves; you believe in God you must also believe in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. For we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

2.    Turn to God.

Act 26:20, “But declared first to those in Damascus, and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do deeds befitting for repentance.”

Note: To turn to God means to turn from the devil to God, from darkness to light. Turn from idols to the living God.

Taiwanese leaders who claim to be Christians and yet they publicly worship idols have not turned to God.

3.   Seek God.

Psa 69:32, “The humble shall see this and be glad; and you who seek God, your heart shall live.”

Note: Man was created in the image of God. Man has sinned against God. Man finds no rest until he reconciles with God. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners and died on the cross so that sinners may reconcile with God. Peoples of the world seek money, power and sex (especially Americans and Europeans), very few people seek God.

4.    Call on God.

Psa 55:16, “As for me, I will call on God; and the Lord shall save me.”

Note: Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. To call on God is to pray to God.

5.    Fear God.

Ecc 12:13, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.”

Ecc 8:12, “Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged; yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him.”

Note: Fear God is the beginning of wisdom The fool says in his heart there is no God. If you fear God you will not do evil. Japanese leaders and people do not fear God, they worship idols so that they deny their historical war crimes and genocide and sex slavery and atrocities. American presidents and leaders do not fear God, since the end of World War II they had killed millions and millions of peoples around the world in hundreds of unjust wars and bloody military interventions they had conducted. American and Japanese leaders spread the blackest and biggest lie about China threat. In fact the Axis of Evil led by America is the no. 1 threat to the world.

Cf. 1 Pe 2:17.

6.    Obey God.

Act 5:29, “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Note: There are people who fear men, and not God; who obey men, and not God. Those who fear God obey God. We ought to obey God rather than men.

7.    Yield to God.

Rom 6:13,  “Do not yield members of your bodies to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but yield yourselves to God, as those who are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.”

To yield to God is to submit yourself to God.

8.    Pray to God.

2 Cr 13:7,  “Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that you should do that which is praiseworthy, though we may seem to be unapproved.”

Note: Do not pray to Mary, apostles or angels. To pray to God is to ask God. Christians are children of God and they are given the right to ask God in the name of Jesus Christ.

9.    Cry to God.

Psa 57:2, “I will cry to God Most High; to God who performs all things for me.”

The good reason to call and cry to God is because God hears our prayers.

10.  Confess to God.

Rom 14:11, “For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”

Note: Do not confess your sins to Catholic priests for they are as sinful as you are. Confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness in the name of Christ.

11.  Please God.

1 Th 4:1, “Moreover we beg you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you should excel more and more.”

Note: If you obey the commandments of God, you please God.

12.  Praise God.

Psa 150:1, “Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His splendor.”

13.  Sing to God.

Psa 68:4,  “Sing to God, sing praises to His name; extol Him who rides through the deserts by His name JAH, and rejoice before Him.”

14.  Magnify God.

Act 10:46, “For they heard them speaking in tongues (languages and dialects) and magnify God. Then answered Peter.”

15.  Thank God.

Rom 7:25, “I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”

Note: Christians cannot thank God enough, for God has answered our prayers countless times and it is possible to count the blessings the Lord has given to us.

16.  Worship God.

Rev 19:10, “Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me; See that you do not do it! I am your fellow servant, and with your brethren who bear the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Worship God in spirit and in truth.

17.  Glorify God.

Rom 15:6, “So that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Glorify God not only your word, also by you deed.

18.  Serve God.

Hbr 12:28, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”

Note: False preachers do not serve God, they preach in order to get rich. Rich preachers are not the servants of Christ. Occupational pastors are also not servants of Christ.

19.  Preach the Kingdom of God.

Act 28:31, “Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no one forbidding him.”

Something is seriously wrong with Chinese preachers, they teach religion but they do not preach the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. I do not know whether they do not know how to preach the Gospel or they do not want to preach the Gospel.

20.  Bear fruit to God.

Rom 7:4,  “Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ; so that you may be married to another, even to Him who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit to God.”

21.  Love God.

Rom 8:28, “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

To love God is the first greatest commandment, the second is to love people.

22.  Hope in God.

Psa 78:7, “So that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.”

Those who seek money, power and sex will be without God and without hope in this world. Those who hope in God will have glory and honor and happiness waiting for them.

23. Trust in God.

2 Cr 1:9, “Indeed we had the sentence of death in ourselves so that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.”

Note: On the United States currency is printed: IN GOD WE TRUST. It is only a meaningless slogan, for the U.S. does not even allow prayer and reading of the Bible in public schools. America does not trust the God of the Bible, America worships the gods of money and power and sex. Had the U.S.trusted in God and run the country according to the Christian principles, it would not be in a dire situation now with big debt and deficit and moral crisis.

Psa 56:3-4,"When I am afraid,I will put my trust in You.In God, whose word I praise,in God I have put my trust;I shall not be afraid.
What can mere man do to me?"
When I am afraid, I always put my trust in God my Lord. The good Lord has saved me numerous times. My dear brothers and sisters, do not forget to claim the promise of God.

What must we do with God is clear, even though the list above covers only a few. You will do well to do as the Scripture says.
