The World

The earth is the only home for humans, yet men may not understand what kind of world we live in. To know the origin of the earth and the system of the world, you need to know the Word of God on the subject. Do not confuse the physical world with the man-made world: the former is beautiful created by God but polluted by destructive behavior of mankind; the latter is corrupted by greed, violence, wickedness and lust.

The problems of the world are not caused by the world, they are caused by men. Men are the problems of the world.

1.    God set the world on the pillars of the earth.

1 Sa 2:8, “He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with nobles, and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and He set the world on them.”

Note: Scientists do not know the pillars of the earth and have never seen them. They have a hard time to see the visible, the invisible is beyond their capacity.

2.    The foundations of the world were laid bare.

2 Sa 22:16, “Then the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were laid bare by the rebuke of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of His nostrils.”

Question: Do scientists know where the foundations of the world are and have they seen them?

3.    The beginning of the world.

Mat 24:21, “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.”

Note: The world had a beginning. In the beginning God created the universe. Nobody knows how long was the beginning. The world will also come to an end.  No one knows when will be the end of the world.  Scientists do not even know when they are going to die. When Jesus Christ returns the world will end.  The kingdoms of the world will become the Kingdom of Christ.

4.    The world is firmly established.

1 Ch 16:30, “Tremble before Him (God), all the earth; indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.”

5.    God established the world by His wisdom.

Jer 10:12, “It is He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom; and by His understanding He has stretched out the heavens.”

Note: A man must be blind if he cannot see the wisdom of God in creating and establishing the world. God has stretched out the heavens (universe), only lately that scientists discovered the expanding universe.

6.    The lightnings lit up the world.

Psa 77:18, “The sound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; the lightnings lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook.”

7.    The world fades and withers.

Isa 24:4, “The earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers, the exalted of the people of the earth fade away.”

Note: The world fades and withers because of the damages and pollutions caused by men. The biggest polluters are private cars. The world fades and withers because the things of the world do not last. Money, power and sex will pass away.

8.    Through Christ God made the world.

Hbr 1:2, “In these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.”

Note: The universe was made; it did not come by itself. No big bang or small bang can create the universe. Behind the creation, there must be the Creator. Behind a thought, there must be a thinker. The Almighty God is the Lord of the universe.

9.    The inhabited world.

Job 18:18, “He is driven from light into darkness, and chased from the inhabited world.”

Note: The first eight Scriptures cited above refer to the physical world, while this Scripture refers to the inhabited world, the human world. The inhabited world is overpopulated. The population of the world in November 2011 reaches 7 billion.

10.   Through one man sin entered into the world.

Rom 5:12, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.”

Note: Through Adam sin entered into the world. This is a sinful world. The consequences of sin are apparent everywhere.

11.   God did not spare the ancient world.

2 Pe 2:5, “And did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly.”

Note: Sin must have judgment. The wages of sin is death. The ancient world was destroyed by water, the present world will be destroyed by fire.

12.   The kingdoms of the world.

Mat 4:8, “Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.”

Note: The kingdoms of the world do not last. Empires came and went. The evil empire of Japan and America will also pass away. Someday the kingdoms of the world will become the Kingdom of Christ and of God which eternal.

13.   The expectation of the things which are coming upon the world.

Luk 21:26, “Men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”

Note: The things which are coming upon the world include wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes, floods, droughts, and all kinds of natural and man-made disasters. Finally, the world shall be burned up. Cf. 2 Pe 3:10.

14.   The world did not know Christ.

Jhn 1:10, “He (Christ) was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.”

Note: The peoples of the world did not know Christ. Most peoples of the world today do not know Christ. Almost all the rich and powerful people do not know Christ, and they are agents of the devil who now rules the world.

15.   God has made foolish the wisdom of the world.

1 Cr 1:20, “Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the sophist of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?”

Note: The wisdom of the world is foolish in God’s sight. There are foolish people who think the greatest values are money, power and sex. The wisdom of the world is for temporary things, not eternal things.

16.   The world through its wisdom did not come to know God.

1 Cr 1:21, “For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.”

Note: The glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ is foolishness to those unbelieving persons. The greatest scientists and scholars cannot come to know God by their wisdom. The wisdom of the world is foolishness to God. No one can find God through the wisdom of the world.

17.   The worries of the world.

Mar 4:19, “But the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.”

Mat 13:22,  “And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.”

Note: The worries of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the Word of God so that the hearers become unproductive. The worries of the world entail the worldly way of life. The poor have many worries, the rich also have worries. People have different kinds of worry.  The world is full of worries. There is no safe place in the world. The helpless have many worries, the powerful also have worries. No matter who you are, you have worries. The blessing of believers is to cast your worries to the Lord because Jesus Christ is able to save you to the end. Our God is bigger than the worries of the world. There will be no worries in Heaven where the blessed and saved enjoy eternity and reign with Christ for ever and ever.

18.   The world vs. the soul.

Mat 16:26, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Note: In seeking riches, glory and pleasures of the world one loses his soul. Human beings are so foolish that they do not know which is more valuable, the world or the soul. A frightening thought is the fact there are many people who seek money, power and sex and they are willing to forfeit their souls. Imperialists, supremacists, militarists, monopolists, capitalists, and terrorists belong to this kind of people.

19.   The immoral people of this world.

1 Cr 5:10, “I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world.”

Note: The immoral people of this world include corrupt officials, lawyers, bankers, greedy business and industry executives, predatory and fraudulent doctors and hospital owners, drugs and insurance companies, supremacists and terrorists, monopolists and militarists, crooks and criminals. They defraud, fleece, deceive, rob and loot the world.

The world is so bad because there are so many bad people, wicked people, and evil people no matter where you are. The love of money, power and sex make people so greedy, evil and wicked. The bad people of the world are more wicked than the wild beasts in the world. Japan is the evil empire because its leaders deny their genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Not only they revised history to whitewash their crimes and sins and iniquities, they also refused to pay reparations and compensations; they even glorify and worship their war criminals enshrined as national heroes. The Unites States is the evil empire because it has killed millions of peoples around the world since in the end of World War II through many unjust wars and brutal military interventions.

20.   The things of the world.

1 Cr 7:33-34, “But one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife and his interests are divided. The woman who is unmarried, and the virgin, is concerned about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how she may please her husband.”

NoteMarriage and the relations between man and woman belong to the things of the world. There is nothing wrong about husband and wife trying to please each other. In heaven there will be no marriage or given to marriage. The things of the world that people cherish and love are money, power and sex. Money, power and sex will vanish because the things of the world will pass away.

21.   The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving.

2 Cr 4:4, “In whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

Note: The tragedy of unbelievers is that they think themselves intelligent by not believing in Jesus Christ, not knowing that the god of this world (Satan) has blinded their minds. Unbelieving scientists are blind spiritually because they do not see the glory of God manifested in the universe. An unbeliever is like a blind man taking a bold step into the bottomless pit.

22.   The world cannot receive the Spirit of truth.

Jhn 14:17, “That is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”

Note: No matter how intelligent you are, without the Holy Spirit, you cannot know the truth of God.

23.   People without God have no hope in the world.

Eph 2:12, “Remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.”

Note: People separate from Christ have no hope and without God in the world. Yes, even billionaires and powerful leaders of nations who are without God are without hope in the world. Ask the richest and most powerful man in the world, what is your hope?  Can your money and power save you from death? No matter who you are, without God is without hope in the world.

24.   The elemental things of the world.

Gal 4:3, “So also we, while we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental things of the world.”

Note: The elemental things of the world include systems and values of the world. Imperialism, capitalism, militarism, etc. are the elemental things of the world.

25.   The course of this world.

Eph 2:2, “In which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.”

Note: The sons of disobedience (such as terrorists, hegemonists, greedy capitalists, corrupt officials and bureaucrats, evildoers and unbelievers) walk (conduct themselves) according to the course of this world. The course of this world is the broad way that leads to destruction.

If you watch all the TV news and reports on how companies and individuals manufacture drugs, food and drink with high content of toxic and harmful and deadly materials and additives, you would not dare to eat or drink anything! This appears to be a national emergency more dangerous and deadly than SARS because it is intentionally caused and created by wicked people infected by incurable capitalistic greed. Just as China has demonstrated its abilities in dealing with natural disasters, I am sure China is fully capable in dealing with such man-made disaster. It is hoped Chinese government will prosecute and execute any responsible people or groups of people who manufacture and sell toxic and harmful products in the form of drug, food, drink, etc. It is high time to eliminate those mass murderers who violate the law boldly for the sake of high profits. Perhaps mass execution is necessary to stop and eliminate this evil deed infected by capitalistic greed. If corrective action is not taken promptly and effectively to stop those mass killers, the consequences would be disastrous of unimaginable magnitude and unthinkable calamity and catastrophe. It would be like committing suicide. When you have internal enemies like those deliberate killers, you do not need external enemies who are at work to destroy China.

26.   The elementary principles of the world.

Col 2:8, “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.”

Note: Culture, custom, tradition, business, religion, ideology, science and philosophy are the elemental principles of the world.

27.   The whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

1 Jo 5:19, “We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”

Note: The evil one is the devil who is the god of this world. Apparently Washington, Wall Street, and Hollywood lie in the power of the evil one. The rich and powerful may think they are some bodies, in fact they are only agents of the evil one.

28.   All that is in the world is of the world.

1 Jo 2:16, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

Note: Worldliness is defined by three elements of the world: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Sex is the lust of the flesh, money is the lust of the eyes, and power is the pride of life. America is the epitome of secularism, a worldliness driven mad by lust for sex, money and power.

Forbes ranks the world’s billionaires of 2012. The world belongs to them and they belong to the world. Do you know anyone of them is a true follower of Jesus Christ?

Mat 19:23-24,“And Jesus said to His disciples: Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Luk 12:21,“So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

A man can be rich toward men, but not rich toward God.

2Cr 8:9,“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.”

The children of God are richer than all the world’s billionaires put together because they shall inherit the Kingdom of God.

1Ti 6:17,“Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.” Those billionaires are only rich in this present world; they have nothing in the world to come.

Jam 1:11,“For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.” The rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.

Jam 2:5,“Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?”

The poorest Christians are richer than those billionaires because they are rich in faith and they are heirs of the Kingdom of God. The Bible has a word for those billionaires,

Jam 5:1,“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you!”

29.   Jesus had spoken openly to the world.

Jhn 18:20, “Jesus answered him: I have spoken openly to the world; I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all the Jews come together; and I spoke nothing in secret.”

Note: The “world” in this Scripture means the peoples of the world.

30.   Jesus’ kingdom is not of this world.

Jhn 18:36, “Jesus answered: My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”

Note: The kingdom of Christ is not of this world. It is the kingdom of heaven. There is no Christian nation on earth. The Kingdom of Christ is my kingdom where there is no sickness, hunger, sorrow, pain, tears, injustice and death. Becau

31.   Things hidden since the foundation of the world.

Mat 13:35, “This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

Note: Things hidden before include the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life and the Kingdom of heaven.

32.   God so loved the world.

Jhn 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Note: The world here means the inhabitants of the world, human beings. This is the most amazing thing: God loves the world, the sinful and unworthy people of the world. The peoples of the world are unlovable. No one is good enough for Heaven, and yet God sent His Son to die on the cross for sinners so that all who believe in Jesus Christ might have eternal life.

33.   Jesus was the Christ who came into the world.

Jhn 11:27, “She said to Him: Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world."

Yes, Jesus Christ came down from Heaven to the world in order to save sinners.

34.   The Lamb of God takes away the sin of the world.

Jhn 1:29, “The next day he (John the Baptist) saw Jesus coming to him and said: Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

Note: Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God; He took away the sin of the world by giving His life. Jesus died on the cross for sinners so that sinners by repentance and faith in Christ may have the forgiveness of sins and the eternal life.

35.   Christ is indeed the Savior of the world.

1Jo 4:14, “We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.”

Jhn 4:42, “And they were saying to the woman: It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.”

Note: Sinners cannot save themselves. No one can save you. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world.

36.   Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world.

1Jo 2:2, “And He (Christ) is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Note: Although Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world, but only those who repent and accept Him as Lord and Savior receive the forgiveness of sin and the eternal life.

37.   The Bread of God gives life to the world.

Jhn 6:33, “For the Bread of God is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world.”

You eat bread or food, you will still be hungry and even die. To receive Jesus Christ is to have the Bread of God and receive the eternal life.

38.   Jesus is the Light of the world.

Jhn 8:12, “Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying: I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

Note: The light of the world like science, knowledge and wisdom cannot save mankind. Jesus Christ is the Light of the world to reveal God to mankind. In heaven there will be no sunlight because the Sun of Righteousness (Jesus Christ) will shine for eternity.

39.   Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.

1Ti 1:15, “It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.”

Jhn 12:47, “If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.”

Christians are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Those who are saved will not be judged for their sins are forgiven. Not only believers are forgiven, they have the right to become children of God to inherit Heaven.

40.   God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.

2Cr 5:19, “Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”

Note: Sin separated men from God. The propitious death of Christ for sinners reconciled men to God by faith.

41.   The sorrow of the world produces death.

2Cr 7:10, “For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.”

Note: There are two kinds of sorrow. The sorrow for sin produces a repentance leading to salvation. The sorrow of the world produces death.

42.   God chose believers in Him before the foundation of the world.

Eph 1:4, “Just as He (God) has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.”

Note: God knew from the beginning who would repent and believe in Jesus Christ. If you are sheep of Jesus Christ, you will listen and follow Him. You do not believe Jesus Christ because you are not His sheep.

43.   Christians are the light of the world.

Mat 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Phl 2:15, “So that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world.”

Note: The world is crooked; Christians must be blameless and innocent. The world is dark and sinful; the clean conduct of believers appears as lights in the world.

44.   Christians are not of the world.

Jhn 15:19, “If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.”

Jhn 17:14, “I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Note: For that reason prosperity gospel is so false because preachers of prosperity gospel and their followers love the world.

Jhn 18:36,“Jesus answered: My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”

Note: The Kingdom of Christ is not of earthly origin and nature. Because I am a child of God, the Kingdom of Christ is also my kingdom. I have great appreciation of the meaning “My Kingdom is not of this world.” By faith I live as an alien in this world because I am a citizen of heaven. I am also an alien because I sojourn in a foreign land. Christians do not belong to this world. When you live in a foreign land you need a visa, residential permit, etc. To qualify for a visa or a residential permit it requires all sorts of certificated document. All sorts of documents need photocopies. Christians do not have permanent home on earth. My home is not of this realm; it is of the other side beyond the moon and sun and stars. Those who think the world is their permanent home know this, 1Cr 7:31,“And those who use the world, as though they did not make full use of it; for the form of this world is passing away.” 1Jo 2:17, “The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.”

45.   Go into all the world and preach the Gospel.

Mar 16:15, “And He (Christ) said to them: Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.”

Note: This website is in obedience to the command of Jesus Christ to preach the Gospel to the entire world absolutely free and never ask for donation. Believe it or not, it is up to you. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

46.   The Gospel shall be preached in the whole world.

Mat 24:14, “This Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

Mat 26:13, "Truly I say to you, wherever this Gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of in memory of her."

Note: The Gospel of Jesus Christ must be preached to all the peoples in the whole world. The proclamation of the Word of God is a testimony to all the nations. The supreme duty of Christians is to proclaim the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ in the entire world.

47.   The field is the world.

Mat 13:38, “And the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one.”

Note: If you want to serve Jesus Christ, the world is the field. Find out what the Lord wants you to do, do it while you are alive.

48.   In the world you have tribulation.

Jhn 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Note: Even Christians will suffer sorrows and tribulations in the world, but in Christ we have peace.

49.   Men of whom the world was not worthy.

Hbr 11:38, “Men of whom the world was not worthy, wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes in the ground.”

Note: Prophets, apostles and many martyrs and saints were people the world was not worthy to have.

50.   We have brought nothing into the world.

1Ti 6:7,   “For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.”

Note: This is the good reason not to lay up treasures in the world. We have brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of the world. Even dictators, tycoons, the wealthy and the powerful when they die, they leave everything behind.

51.   Do not be conformed to this world.

Rom 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Note: Do not be conformed to the values, system and way of life of this world. Christians are non-conformists.

52.   Do not love the world nor the things in the world.

1Jo 2:15, “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

Note: The things in the world we can rightfully use them properly. There are people who love mansions, luxurious cars, fancy clothes, expensive jewelry and furniture, etc. The fallacy of the prosperity gospel is that it teaches people to love the world. The sins of prosperity gospel preachers are to mislead the people to love the world.  You become Christians not because you want to become rich in this world, but because you want to be rich in the faith, rich in God, and rich in the world to come.

53.   Those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited.

1Ti 6:17, “Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.”

Note: There is a wrong idea among some believers who think it is sinful to enjoy things. It is good to enjoy things that God has richly supplied us. There is nothing wrong to enjoy a good meal, but it is wrong to eat a meal costing thousands of dollars. It is nothing wrong to wear decent clothes, it is wrong to wear suits or dresses that cost thousands of dollars. It is sinful for preachers to own million dollars home or live in luxury because the foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Lord of the universe had no place to lay His head. The most deadly idea and practice in America is the fact that some preachers got rich by preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The most self-conceited people are the rich and powerful.

54.   God has chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith.

Jam 2:5, “Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?”

Note: If you are rich in money, it is temporary and transient and can be taken away. If you are rich in faith, you are heirs of the Kingdom of God. Apostles like Peter, John, Paul, etc. were rich in the faith. They did not have gold and silver of the world.  Martin Luther, John Bunyan, Wang Ming Tao were rich in the faith.

55.   God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.

1Cr 1:27, “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,”

Unbelieving scholars and scientists think they are wise, they do not even know when they are going to die.

56.   We have received not the spirit of the world.

1Cr 2:12, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God.”

Note: The spirit of the world is demonstrated in the love of money, power and sex. Wall Street, Washington and Hollywood demonstrate the spirit of the world.

57.   The wisdom of the world is foolishness before God.

1Cr 3:19, “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, He is the ONE who catches the wise in their craftiness.”

58.   We have become a spectacle to the world.

1Cr 4:9, “For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.”

59.   Keep oneself unstained by the world.

Jam 1:27, “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”

Note: True charity is not tax-deductible. The whole world is stained by the love of money, power and sex.

60.   Having escaped the corruption that is in the world.

2Pe 1:4, “Whereby He has given us exceeding great and precious promises, so that by these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

Note: The corruption of the world has infinite forms, mainly influenced by money, power and sex. One word can rightly describe the world is "corrupt."

61.   Friendship with the world is hostility toward God.

Jam 4:4, “You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”

Note: There is no neutrality: If you are a friend of the world then you are an enemy of God.

62.   Many false prophets have gone out into the world.

1Jo 4:1, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
There are many false teachers and false prophets in the world today, they are famous and prominent people.

63.   Many deceivers have gone out into the world.

2Jo 1:7, “For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.”

Note: Deceivers are defined as those who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. They are also antichrists.

64.   The spirit of the antichrist is already in the world.

1Jo 4:3, “And every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.”

Those who deny Jesus Christ is the Son of God have the spirit of the antichrist.

65.   Christians wrestle against the rulers of the darkness of this world.

Eph 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Note: Spiritual wickedness is in high places, not low places. The biggest crooks in the world are Wall Street operators, bankers, executives, lawyers, doctors, politicians, bureaucrats, etc. They are agents of Satan.

66.   Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

1Jo 4:4, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”

Note: God is in believers, the devil is in the world. God’s power is greater than diabolical power.

67.   Whoever is born of God overcomes the world.

1Jo 5:4, “For whoever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.”

Note: Whoever believes Jesus is the Son of God is born of God. Whoever is born of God overcomes the world.

68.   The world is passing away.

1Jo 2:17, “The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.”

Note: The human world, the spirit of the world, the system of the world, the wisdom of the world and the material world are passing away. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life are also passing away. Washington, Wall Street and Hollywood are passing away.

69.   God will judge the world in righteousness.

Psa 9:8, “And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.”

Act 17:31, “Because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead."

Note: Here the world means all the inhabitants of the world.

70.   God will punish the world.

Isa 13:11, “Thus I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their iniquity; I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proud and abase the haughtiness of the ruthless.”

Note: God will punish the inhabitants of the world for its evil and the wicked for their iniquity. That day is called the Judgment Day.

71.   The world to come.

Hbr 2:5,  “For He did not subject to angels the world to come, concerning which we are speaking.”

Note: The world to come belongs to the Kingdom of God and children of God. The Kingdom of God is the world to come.

72.   God has prepared the Kingdom of heaven from the foundation of the world.

Mat 25:34,  “Then the King will say to those on His right: Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

73.   The kingdoms of the world will become the Kingdom of our Lord.

Rev 11:15,  “Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying: The kingdoms of the world have become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”

When Jesus Christ returns to the world, the kingdoms of the world will become the Kingdom of our Lord.

74.   The saints will judge the world.

1Cr 6:2, “Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?”

The saints will judge the world and then reign with Christ forever.

75.   The devil deceives the whole world.

Rev 12:9, “And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”

Note: The people who consider themselves the richest and most powerful are actually deceived by the devil.

76.   The ruler of this world will be cast out.

Jhn 12:31, “Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.”

Satan is the ruler of this world. The present world is run under Satanic influence no matter under what political or economic system. When Jesus Christ rose from the dead He has destroyed the works of the devil. The ruler of this world has been sentenced already. Soon the devil and his followers will be cast down into the lake of fire to be tormented forever.

77.   The end of the world.

Mat 13:49, “This is how it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous.”

The Mayan Prophecy of 12-21-2012 as the end of the world was a False prophecy. A false prophecy will never come true. All false prophecies do not come true. There have been many false prophets who predicted the dates of the end of the world, or the second coming of Jesus Christ; none of them, not one of them, has come true. No false prophecy will ever come true. December 21, 2012 was not the end of the world or the beginning of a new world age. December 21, 2012 is not a prophetic date and will not be a clear marker of the transition of world ages. It will not be any collective transformation. Any date cannot and does bring positive transformation of human culture in harmony with the Earth. Please read

The Chronology of Time and Eternity (Home), and  In the Last Days.

The world will come to an end someday as the Bible says, but not on December 21, 2012. On the authority of Jesus Christ, December 21, 2012 will not be the end of the world. How do you know? For Jesus Christ says,

Mar 13:31, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come. It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert. Therefore, be on the alert—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—in case he should come suddenly and find you asleep. What I say to you I say to all: Be on the alert!”

Note: Whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning - refers to various time zones on the earth. Two thousands years ago people did not know there are various time zones. The Son refers to Jesus Christ. Jesus made this statement when He was in a humble state as the Son of Man on earth. But when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to the highest heaven, all powers and authority have been given to Him. I believe since Jesus Christ was exalted and glorified, He knows the day and hour He will return to the earth, the appointed time, and that is the end of the world. For Jesus in His glorious state reveals to John by saying,

Rev 22:12, “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.”

Mat 13:49, “This is how it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous.”

Jesus must know the date of His coming for He says He is coming quickly. Jesus Christ is coming again soon. Are you the wicked or the righteous? There is no third category. Are you ready to face judgment or to be saved?

Note: If you do not know God and the Bible the Word of God, you cannot have a correct worldview. To sum up what we have learned from the Scriptures above, we know there are the physical world, the human world, the material world, the spirit of the world, the course of the world, and the worldly way of life which operate in the affairs of men. You cannot have a correct worldview unless you understand what the Scriptures say about the world and obey the Word of God. The world we know it will come to an end someday when Jesus Christ returns to reign with the saints.
